Community Participation Working Group (CPWG)
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and Honeywell are required and committed to informing and involving the public during the remedial design and construction phases of the Onondaga Lake Bottom Subsite of the Onondaga Lake Superfund Site. This Citizen Participation Plan (CPP) provides a formal, yet flexible plan for communication with the public during the remediation of the Onondaga Lake bottom.
The Community Participation Working Group (CPWG) is self-governing voluntary group dedicated to providing a forum for enhancing public dialogue, fostering public understanding, and encouraging input and discussion about the Onondaga Lake bottom remedial design
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) formed the Community Participation Working Group (CPWG) to provide a forum to inform, receive input, make recommendations, and discuss the Onondaga Lake bottom remediation program, with an emphasis on reviewing project progress and community outreach activities to determine the effectiveness of the Citizen Participation Plan
The Onondaga Lake Remediation CPWG helps maintain this website as a means to help inform the public of current and historic activities related to the lake bottom clean up.
The CPWG is a voluntary group consisting of citizens, community leaders, public officials, and conservation and environmental group leaders.
